Commissioning Support Officer (temporary/ fixed term) 31/3/2021

The Adult Commissioning Team are seeking to recruit a Commissioning Support Officer. The post holder will be ready to undertake a variety of work tasks that enable the adult commissioning team to commission external providers to meet the needs of vulnerable adults in the city. Providers include, home care, care homes and community support.

We are looking for someone who is a team player who can apply their varied skills to support the team during this exciting, yet challenging time.

You will need to be able to:

• Take a lead role on key initiatives understanding of the needs of service users within a highly diverse community

• Working with commissioners on designated projects

• Experience of successfully managing change

• Knowledge and skills regarding commissioning, needs analysis and strategy development and implementation.

• An understanding of and sensitivity to the political judgements influencing both the overall objectives of the City Council and ability to work with all political parties.

• An understanding of the major strategic and operational challenges facing local government and the public sector You will be expected to:

• Plan and organising your own workload to meet deadlines

• Use a range of IT skills to produce reports, spreadsheets and external communication bulletins.

• Use your excellent communication skills to work with care providers and colleagues

• Attend meetings and take accurate records
