Fixed Term Contract for 2 years

Solihull Community Housing’s Money Advice Team is looking to recruit a suitable Money Advisor into a fixed term contract for a period of 2 years. Currently the service is experiencing a high number of referrals from across the business and you will be required to provide financial support to our tenants and customers to maximise their income, provide help and assistance with affordability, income and expenditure and welfare benefits. You will be able to demonstrate a customer focused approach and will need good telephone skills as most of your casework will be conducted in this way under present circumstances but ordinarily you must also have the ability to conduct ‘face to face’ interviews.

You will also be able to participate in Money Advice initiatives and projects as directed by the Money Advice Team Leader which will include local benefit take up campaigns, local surgeries and contribute to pilot projects.

Candidates should have the ability to work effectively with clients to resolve problems, experience of dealing with those with vulnerabilities and additional support needs. You will need excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to deal confidently and tactfully with all customers, colleagues, partners and members.

You may be required to work from different locations so ideally the ability to drive is preferable, as well as a good understanding of IT systems and the ability to work under pressure given the demands of the role.

In return we will offer you:

• Training opportunities for further development
• Flexible working, including flexi leave up to 24 days per year and agile working arrangements
• The opportunity to buy up to 10 days additional leave per year
• Access to our Employee Assistance Programme – a 24 hour independent, free and confidential advice and support service
• Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme
• Employee benefits including a staff discount card

Please note we do not accept CVs.

Successful applicants will be contacted about interviews which will be conducted at one of Solihull Community Housing’s offices in a safe environment.
