Devonshire Infant and Junior Academies are looking for a Learning Support Practitioner to work across both schools within our Focus Provision for Autism. Our numbers are rising and so we are in a position to employ extra staff to work within our ASD team.
As specialised support staff, you will be responsible for providing individual and small group support within the mainstream classes and designated small group areas. You will be working with a range of children across the primary age range and need to be flexible and adaptable to each child’s needs. It is vital that you have experience of working with children with autism, using a range of communication strategies and autism specific approaches to teaching and learning.
Ongoing training and support will be given to successful candidates. This is an exciting opportunity to be part this established facility across our schools. We have dedicated Focus Provision areas, including sensory rooms in each school.
Hours will be 8.40-3.20 Monday Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 8.40-3.50 Thursdays (to include an after school team meeting) and include a 30 minute lunch break.
Devonshire Infant and Junior Academies are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children so you will need to take a disclosure and barring check (DBS). We are committed to promoting Equal Opportunities and therefore only applications submitted on the Academy’s application form will be considered. We do not accept CV only applications.
Visits to the schools are welcomed and can be arranged through the Junior School office on 0121 558 1654.
