Agency Support and Development Officer
Dudley Home Improvement Service provides both the Council’s Disabled Adaptations Service and the Council’s Energy Advice / Winter Warmth Service. These valuable services assist vulnerable, older and disabled Dudley borough residents to remain independent safe and warm in their homes.
Hours: 37 per week
Salary: Grade 8
An opportunity has arisen within the Agency for a Caseworker. You will assist in the promotion of the service and will have responsibility for managing and co-ordinating a caseload of clients.
This role will see you supporting our customers with grant applications for funding their repairs and adaptations, providing energy advice and support with helping residents to reduce their energy bills and resolve energy bill issues, helping them with benefits and signposting to local services. Working within a busy office, you will be given suitable training as required, arrange your own appointments and visit customers in their own homes
Candidates for this post should have an understanding of the issues facing vulnerable people to remain independent, safe and warm in their own homes and an appreciation of the link between housing and health. To succeed in this role, you should have an understanding of home repairs, improvements, energy advice and welfare benefits.

The council has a contractual 3 days mandatory unpaid leave which, for the majority of services, are fixed at the Christmas period. This represents a pay deduction of 1.15% in return for which employees are afforded three days unpaid leave (pro-rata for part time staff).
