St Peter’s CE Academy, Alton is proud to be part of Staffordshire University Academies Trust.  Our Local Academy Council are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support our Covid 19 Catch Up programme. The applicant should be available to work from Monday, 4 January 2021 subject to Covid 19 restrictions in place at the time. The post is for 15 hours per week during term time and working hours will be Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 12 noon

The successful applicant will be responsible to the Class Teacher. We are looking to appoint someone who is committed to achieving high standards and will work closely with colleagues as part of a friendly and supportive team.  The successful applicant will be required to:

•           Deliver a range of interventions and activities for the children to promote learning and close any gaps in knowledge and skills.

•           Ensure the welfare and safety of the children

•           Promote good behaviour within the group

•           Liaise professionally with staff

 Ideally the successful candidate should have:

•           NVQ2 or equivalent qualification or experience in relevant discipline

•           Experience of working with children of relevant age

•           Good numeracy and literacy skills

•           Good understanding of principles of child development and learning processes, in
            particular, barriers to learning

•           Good organising and planning skills
