The school is situated to the south of Wolverhampton’s city centre, on a site surrounded by green space and fantastic views across hills and fields. We also benefit greatly from a wide range of fantastic facilities for our staff and students, including an on-site swimming pool, astroturf pitch, dedicated Sixth Form block, flexible breakout spaces across the school and a large theatre often used by groups in our local community for performances. We are a school with a real family feel, with a strong House ethos that underpins our work.

Colton Hills Community School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and requires all employed staff, agency, thirdparty staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Our outcomes show that we are a successful school, with positive Progress 8 scores in our past three academic years. We are also a growing school, with 210 students in our current and next Year 7 – up from 161 previously – meaning that our student numbers are robust and the whole-school cohort will approach 1000 students. With a healthy financial picture and strong school governance in place, we are now seeking to expand our staff to create the best possible experience for our students every day, to develop their confidence and aspiration by surrounding them with inspiring adults delivering an exciting curriculum.

Technician responsible to the Curriculum Leader for Art and the Curriculum Leader for Design Technology to provide an efficient, effective and safe technical service to students and teachers, making a contributon to ensuring the Art and Design Curriculum is delivered in accordance with current National standards to the satisfaction of the Governing Body.

As per Job Description

* Experienced and trained in the use of tools and related machinery in a Design and Technology curriculum area

* Be familiar with relevant Health and Safety Regulations

* Willing to undertake training as necessary

* Expected to carry out of all duties in compliance with all school policies

About Colton Hills Community School

Colton Hills Community School is a mixed, non-denominational community secondary school and sixth form for pupils aged 11-18. It is located in Wolverhampton in the West Midlands.  The school is supported by Wolverhampton City Council, has over 1000 pupils, and was formerly known by three other names: Wolverhampton Municipal Grammar School, Graiseley Secondary School, and Penn Secondary Modern. It was established in 1974.  The Headteacher is Ms Julie Hunter.
