Warwickshire’s Early Help Team have won Children and Families Team of the Year 2020. We are doing great and we need great people to join us!

One of the exciting projects is the introduction of Parent Trainers. We have 2 fixed term vacancies (for 2 years) to deliver a rolling programme of different parenting programmes across the county.

The posts have county wide responsibility, however, there will be district designations:

  • 1 x Nuneaton, Bedworth & North Warwickshire district
  • 1 x Warwick & Stratford District

The role will have specific responsibility for the creation, maintenance and delivery of a rolling schedule of parenting programmes. Training and learning will be delivered to the following groups:

  • Parent and carers
  • Colleagues in Children and Families
  • Colleagues in the voluntary and community sector
  • Colleagues in education and learning including schools and early years
  • Other areas in agreement with line manager.

The Parent Trainer will apply multi-disciplinary skills delivering their work with families and professionals, specific to team area, depending on the identified level of need and demand on the service. They will be required to contribute to the learning of others, provide training, develop and lead an area of expertise such as mental health and provide supervision to colleagues.

We are introducing a number of new programmes to our suite of parenting support and you will receive full training. An innovative approach is the delivery of basic parenting knowledge and skills to schools and community groups also, ranging from 2 hours short courses to the full programmes requiring digital and face to face delivery.

Flexibility will be required as for some groups to access the courses the delivery will need to be organised for daytime, evening and weekends which can be planned in advance.

Key requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a Family Support Worker.
