Housing Development Officer
Fixed-Term Contract until 31st December 2021 – potential to become permanent
Warwick District Council is an attractive historic town located within the south eastern region of the West Midlands; as a consequence, local housing costs are extremely high. The provision of more affordable and as near to zero-carbon constructed housing, is a key corporate priority for Warwick District Council.
As a stock holding authority with ambitions to deliver in excess of 500 affordable housing units over the next three years, it is an exciting time to join and start this new phase of ‘carbon’ housing growth.
You will be helping to deliver a portfolio of new build and refurbishment development projects in our town centres but, also rural locations to meet the desired housing needs. This will include identifying development opportunities, managing consultant’s/industry professionals; contractors and other resources to ensure new homes are delivered on time and within budget. We are seeking experienced applicants and those already able to hit the ground running and manage some of our existing portfolio but, also someone who is proactive and can bring a fresh an innovative approach to the role.
These ambitious targets are based on rapid housing expansion in the district, so this is an ideal opportunity to deliver an expanding portfolio of projects. The role includes the ability to liaise with many different stakeholders including our internal asset and lettings teams on handovers of completed dwellings, ensuring quality standards are met by developers and contractors, as well as organisations such as Homes England on monitoring data and grant delivery.
