Do you know your way around Telford? Do you enjoy an active life and have an interest in Heritage, Environment and Engineering assets? If so, this is your opportunity to be part of an exciting task to collect asset data across the borough.

This is a role in Telford & Wrekin Council’s Engineering & Project Delivery Team carrying out a data collection idea to inform maintenance strategies. You’ll be mostly site based walking our wonderful green network identifying various assets and recording information about type, condition and location on a handheld device

We are looking for candidates with an interest in history, engineering and walking and capabilities with ICT systems. Training will be provided for ICT systems and condition assessments and you must be able to provide your own transport with insurance for business use. Candidates should have strong local knowledge and be able to navigate around the network on foot, bike or car. You should be confidant and able to work autonomously for extended periods of time in all weather conditions.

Telford a new town has its roots in the 1960s but this doesn’t mean we’re stuck in the past. Over the last 50 years the town has grown and developed into a hub of innovation and investment. 

Telford & Wrekin Council is ambitious, always looking to develop, improve and attract investment. The Council has recently delivered a number of exciting projects, and over the next three years the Council is embarking on a further significant investment programme, will you be part of shaping it?

The role is initially a fixed term post 12 month appointment
