Salary: £15:53 / hour

Contract: Casual contract: 15 – 25 hours per week according to need; term time only

The Chantry School is seeking two graduates of English or maths (or other highly numerate discipline) to join us as soon as possible. The school is based in rural West Worcestershire, but within easy reach of Worcester. We are a high achieving, over-subscribed, academy of 812 pupils rated outstanding by Ofsted. Our pupils are keen to learn and respond extremely well to high quality teaching. We are currently expanding our intake and will grow over the next 5 years to become a school of 875.

Purpose:

To provide pupils with either small group or 1:1 support in English and/or maths skills, knowledge, and application. The pupils will range from 11-15 years old. If successful, you will work closely with the class teachers to progress, boost and consolidate their achievement in English and maths. With guidance from subject specialists, you will, over time, be responsible for creating and planning and delivering relevant learning activities to improve pupils’ ability in a specifically identified subject skill. An additional aspect will also mentoring some pupils who have become disengaged with school, and are struggling to motivate themselves in lessons, as well as complete homework. Most of the tutoring will take place in school either during the school day, or after school.
