Job Details
Lichfield District Council is seeking a part-time Community Safety Officer (Anti-Social Behaviour) on a temporary contract for an initial period of up to 4 months, working 22 hours per week.
The Community Safety Officer will be a main point of contact within the District Council for issues relating to anti-social behaviour and other community safety issues that impact on the district. You will support the Lichfield District Safer Community Partnership and be responsible for delivering on all aspects of anti-social behaviour and partnership work. You will work closely with agencies where appropriate paying particular regard to the Crime and Disorder Act 1998, Crime and Policing act 2014 and other relevant legislation.
The role will involve pro-actively engaging with other agencies and members of the community to identify and tackle anti-social behaviour within the Lichfield District. This will include co-ordination of specific cases ranging from low level interventions to Community Protection Notices and Criminal Behaviour Orders.
You will have previous experience within Community Safety work and of dealing with members of the public, including young people. Excellent communication skills are essential together with the ability to work with minimal supervision. Flexibility to work outside normal office hours and away from the office base is required. You must hold a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
