Housing Services is the landlord for the Council’s owned properties and offers a range of services to tenants and leaseholders.

Hours:  37 per week

Salary:  Grade 10

Housing Services includes an in-house maintenance team that delivers a range of repairs and planned improvements to homes throughout the borough, ensuring that homes remain safe, comfortable and energy efficient. The team also undertakes a range of maintenance services to the Council’s other built assets and traded services sites.

The post holder will play an important role within the team by ensuring compliance with all relevant Gas, Building and Water Hygiene Regulations, along with British Standards by utilising directly employed engineers and contractors to deliver a full range of inspection, servicing and maintenance services. The post holder will also be expected to manage frontline service teams, which include craft colleagues, business support functions and contractors to meet the business requirements.

The council has a contractual 3 days mandatory unpaid leave which, for the majority of services, are fixed at the Christmas period.  This represents a pay deduction of 1.15% in return for which employees are afforded three days unpaid leave (pro-rata for part time staff).
