Telford and Wrekin Council are looking to offer a programme of support for the Government's new Kick Start Programme offering a paid job over 6 months, with support for progressing on into further employment, to eligible young people 16-24 claiming universal credit. 

The council will look to make available a variety of roles across the council and build a rolling programme of recruitment into these posts.

The Project Co-ordinator will support with the recruitment, training and co-ordination of the programme to achieve 100 placements over the 12 month period. The post holder will support with the promotion of the scheme through the effective use of a range of social media platforms. The post holder will work closely with the Kick Start Programme Support Officer to deliver the project.

• To support the development and implementation of the Kick-Project including liaising with SDM’s and HR in the development of job descriptions, adverts and creation of placements.
• To support Kick-Start Programme Support Officer with the employability and post placement progression
• To develop and support the recruitment and matching process into Kick-Start placements within the service areas across the council
• To support the applicants to enable them to undertake successful placements.
• To build relationships with managers of the placements to ensure they have all the relevant support required to enable successful achievement of placements
• Establishing and collecting outcome measures that demonstrate the impact of the Kick-Start Project
• Creation of data collection for monitoring purposes of the commencement and completion of placements.
• To help plan and deliver any campaigns or recognition events related to the project

• To have excellent customer service skills and be committed to delivering efficient and effective services
• Good interpersonal skills, written and communication skills with the ability to talk to people face to face, on the telephone and in writing
• Ability to write short action plans and reports
• Ability to support a network placements
• Ability to implement effective project management processes Good organisational skills and an ability to manage own work load
• Working with work placements or basic recruitment knowledge
• Delivering community projects that contribute to positive outcomes for young people • Experience of co-ordinating and monitoring projects
