This is a Fixed Term position until November 2022 due to the increase in the number of Elective home education cases.

Walsall Council are recruiting for an Elective Home Education Officer who will be responsible for visiting families who are educating their children at home.

The role will involve monitoring the quality of the educational provision at home to ensure it is line with statutory guidance and referring into services if required. We are looking to recruit a suitably qualified officer who has a good overall knowledge of age-related academic developments and has previous teaching experience.

The successful applicant will monitor and scrutinise all EHE referral to ensure that children's needs are identified and that appropriate educational provision continues in a timely and effective manner. This will include joint working with Children's services colleagues to prevent children missing education.

The successful applicant will also need to demonstrate that they are highly organised and self-motivated. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
