Job Details

We are looking for a motivated and focused Technical Officer to join our Environmental Protection team, to undertake regulatory and enforcement activity under legislation relating (but not limited) to pollution control and public health.

The successful applicant needs to be a team player, an excellent communicator and have the skills and ability to communicate with officers/councillors and members of the public, at all levels. You will have a strong commitment to excellent customer service and be able to deal effectively with difficult situations achieving positive outcomes with often conflicting demands.

This is an interesting but sometimes challenging job with a varied workload and a requirement to meet strict deadlines, therefore a high level of self-motivation and the ability to take the lead on specific pieces of work are essential qualities.

A working knowledge of IT applications, particularly in relation to Microsoft Office and other database management systems is essential (a working knowledge of CIVICA Authority software would be an advantage).

Applicants must hold a full valid driving license and ideally be willing to work on a rota basis to cover our weekend out of hour’s service.

For further information about the post, please contact Paulette Samuels (Environmental Protection Team Leader) or Lorna Hudson (Regulatory Manager) 01926 456725.

Closing Date: 2nd December 2020

Interview Date: 10/11th December 2020
