Learning and Development Officer

Salary:  £32,234- £36,992 per annum

37 Hours per week – Permanent

Location: Stafford (we are currently home working)

It’s an exciting time to join us here at Staffordshire County Council (SCC). As we go through a time of transformation within People Services the opportunities for you to really make your mark and shine are endless.

The role

Within the Learning and Development team we are about to implement a new LXP (Learner Experience platform) to revolutionise the way we deliver learning across SCC. As part of this we now need an L&D Officer with LXP experience to assist the L&D Manager to deliver this and other L&D projects. You’ll be joining a team of two other L&D Officers reporting into the L&D Manager and so you’ll play a significant part in the team’s success.

About you

Importantly, you must have learning delivery and facilitation experience. In our now increasingly digitised world, you’ll understand the learning principles and methodologies used not only in the face to face learning environment but also in the virtual learning environment.

You’ll have experience of using an LMS (Learning Management System) and of LXP platforms with an understanding of how these can be utilised to improve the learning experience. As we’ll be implementing a new LXP system you’ll need to have experience of coordinating on L&D projects. When it comes to learner content, we’ll be using Articulate 360 as our authoring tool to create content so if you have experience with this great! If not, that’s fine too - any authoring tool experience will be suitable.

What else?

You’ll be a strong communicator with the ability to build relationships and how to work as an L&D partner across the business. You’ll work with your stakeholders to encourage but also to identify opportunities for L&D activity.

You’ll have a passion for learning and development and the ability to really bring learning to life for others too. You’ll be able to embrace and take the lead during this time of transformation and you’ll make sure that your key stakeholders go along on the journey with you.

If you want to know even more about this role, please see the attached job description and person specification.
