Walsall Council’s Adult Social Care Directorate are seeking to appoint a Programme Manager, to lead the Directorate's Project Management Office.
This is great time to join us, to support the Directorate in delivering a challenging transformational programme.
The successful candidate will line manage the Project Managers. This team has a focused remit on working across all areas of the Adult Social Directorate, to deliver transformation thus seeking to deliver key improvements for the people of Walsall, who access our services.
This role will also directly align and contribute to the delivery of our ambitious organisational transformation programme. The successful candidate will be required to utilise all their programme and project management skills and experience to lead and drive forward the next stages in our journey.
We are seeking candidates who are experienced and will make a strong contribution in leading our project management office to underpin the delivery of ambitious programmes. Programmes such as maximising our use of technology, with a clear outcome focus in contributing to the delivery of our corporate priorities which include:
Supporting people to live a good quality life and feel they belong,
To help people to understand what makes them healthy,
Encouraging people to seek and obtain support when they need it;
To ensure that communities are prospering and resilient with all their housing needs met in safe and healthy places that build a strong sense of belonging and cohesion.
This post is covered by the Government’s Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers. The post holder will be required to communicate verbally with customers and provide advice and/or information in accurate spoken English.
For this role the successful candidate must undergo a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check. BPSS is the minimum standard to ensure the identity and integrity of an employee who has access to official information using secure networks linking central government and local authorities. A BPSS check involves four main elements; Identity Check, National and Immigration Status, Employment History (last 3 years) and Verification of Criminal Record (unspent convictions only).
