Job Details

First Response Worker , First Response Service

Salary:  £20,903-£23,451 per annum

37 Hours per week – Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a First Response Worker within the First Response Team which is situated within Staffordshire’s Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub  working alongside Staffordshire Police and Stoke Children’s Service front door as well as  Adult Protection, Probation, Child Health and Mental Health colleagues from Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent.

As part of Families First, our Team is a very busy telephone, email and web enquiry referral service dealing with enquiries about vulnerable children throughout the county of Staffordshire that are not currently in receipt of targeted services or Social Work intervention.

The First response workers support the Team Manager, Team Coordinator and Senior Practitioner Social Workers to ensure that a high quality service is provided to all our customers.

First Response Workers provide a professional response to all initial enquiries by effectively discriminating between those that require the provision of information or signposting as an appropriate response and those that require a social work assessment or targeted services.

Good Communication, IT and keyboard skills are essential and a knowledge of Care Director SAP, TRIM & CISS would be beneficial, as would be an understanding of the referral service as operated by the First Response Team.

The post holder will be expected to work flexibly and on a rota basis as required to meet the needs of the service.

This Authority is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people/vulnerable adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
