Worcestershire County Council Reablement Service
Occupation Therapist x 2
Salary: £27,741 - £29,577

Worcestershire County Council is committed to supporting its residents to live healthy and independent lives in their community.

In order to achieve this, the Council, in partnership with NHS colleagues and our care providers, have developed a new service (Reablement) that will assist adults referred to the council for social care to regain their independence.

Our approach will be to offer short-term intensive support to enable individuals to learn how to live their lives as independently as they can and support them to regain independence during the period of support. We focus on what people can do and build on these skills. We will make sure people receive the right support at the right time to help them live independently at home for as long as possible.

This is part of a broader approach to ensure Worcestershire residents are healthier, live longer, have better quality of life and remain independent for as long as possible.

We are looking to recruit to the position of Occupational Therapist you must be committed to:

• To deliver a specialist Occupational Therapy service with the aim of identifying options to improve independence and reduce the need for carer input through the use of a range of equipment, assistive technology, manual handling techniques and the delivery of training.

• To support the early review of post hospital discharge packages of care to promote independence and ensure best use of limited care funds.

As the ideal candidate you must have Significant experience in Occupational Therapy, including assessment and working with both individuals and carers to improve their well-being. It is also equally important that you can demonstrate a can-do attitude, and that you are proactive, compassionate and empathetic.

In return you will be supported in your role by your line manager through one to one meetings and performance reviews, team meetings and other corporate wellbeing tools. You will also be provided with regular clinical supervision. You will also receive 5 weeks annual leave in addition to Bank Holidays, rising to 6 weeks after 5 years’ service, and access to the Local Government Pension Scheme.

If you are interested in this role, please submit an application detailing how you meet the requirements of the role. You should refer to the attached Job Description and Person Specification to support this.

If you require further information, please contact Debbie Bell on 01905 822876.

This post is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of criminal records via the Disclosure and Barring Service before the appointment is confirmed. This will include details of cautions, reprimands or final warnings, as well as convictions.

Closing date:  Wednesday 9th December 2020 at 23:59
Interview Date: To be Confirmed.
