About us and the role
Education Services, as part of the Communities Directorate of Warwickshire County Council, is looking for an appropriately qualified and experienced specialist to play an active part in the Education Services’ extended senior leadership team and to take responsibility for leading the Standards, Safeguarding and Quality areas of Early Years provision in the county.
This is an important role which will work closely alongside the Early Years Entitlement, Sufficiency and Business Commissioner to jointly lead all Early Years provision. This role will also be expected to work in partnership with other Education Services team leaders to deliver agree priorities, key performance measures and service objectives as part of the annual Education Services Business Plan.
This key management role will provide leadership and delivery of the Integrated Early Years Strategy including management of its programme funding and main projects and thematic areas such as Closing the Gap. This will involve working closely with Maintained Nursery Schools and school-based early years provision, a range of other Council services including Children and Families, Early Help and with key service providers such as Health and other external agencies.
Responsibilities include jointly leading the performance of the Early Years’ Service and specifically in terms of standards of Early Years provision and ensuring quality assurance in service delivery including private, voluntary and independent (PVI) providers. This post will ensure that statutory functions are fulfilled in relation to safeguarding and related local authority responsibilities for vulnerable children and those in need.
The role involves developing and maintaining effective working relationships with a range of key stakeholders including other Council services, external strategic partners and strategic work such as Warwickshire Safeguarding, Education Services School Improvement and the SEND and Inclusion Change Programme in Warwickshire.
This is a full-time post which requires Qualified Teacher Status.
