Salary:  £27,041 - £31,346

 37 Hours per week – Fixed Term until 30/09/2022

Staffordshire ICT is responsible for the delivery of ICT services for Staffordshire County Council and some of its partners. This post sits within the Development & Solution and Application Management section which leads on introducing new systems and functionality to support business change and facilitate driving efficiencies through the best use of IT.

Currently a vacancy for a Programmer exists within the Web Applications and Data Warehousing Team; with a primary focus on the web application side of the development process. This team is responsible for the development and maintenance of a number of public facing websites, internal business applications, and the maintenance and development of a corporate data warehouse.

Applicants must have in depth knowledge of development practices as well as proven experience in developing using Microsoft Development technologies specifically focusing on .Net (C# and asp), JQuery, SQL Server, Transact-SQL, and associated techniques and methods for building applications. Any experience or knowledge of developing in a scrum environment would be desirable but not essential. A working knowledge of the Microsoft 365 Power Suite (Power Apps, Power Automate and Power Virtual Agents) would also be desirable but not essential.

The successful candidate will be expected to undertake impact analysis on technical options under the guidance of the Technical Development Lead and provide input in proposing technical solutions.  They will also be expected to take technical responsibility for most stages of the development life cycle.

In addition to the technical aspects of the role the successful candidate will be required to possess the personal qualities which make them capable of liaising with the key stakeholders of corporate projects. They will need to be able to work in a challenging fast paced environment, displaying excellent time management and resource/conflict management skills, as well as demonstrate the ability to deliver on tight deadlines and keep calm under pressure.
