SCH is seeking to appoint a Procurement Officer to join an expanding team.

You will assist in the management of all steps in the procurement process including user needs analysis, market research, sourcing activity, structure of tenders, market engagement, tender evaluation, negotiation and all contractual matters.

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Previous experience within a procurement environment
  • A robust commercial outlook with understanding of risk
  • Strong numeracy skills with the ability to analyse, interpret and present complex information.
  • Experience of stakeholder management, with strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Knowledge of contract law, the ability to draft contracts and experience of Public Sector procurement would be desirable.

We are an Arm's Length Management Organisation (ALMO) set up in April 2004 to run the housing service on behalf of Solihull Council. The Council still owns the properties and is the landlord. But housing services are delivered by us.

We are run by a management board made up of four tenants, four councillors and four independent people chosen for their specialist skills and experience.
