Job Details

The Brewhouse is a thriving arts centre in the heart of Burton on Trent. The centre has a wide ranging programme from live theatre to exhibitions and workshops and events by and with our community partners.

We also develop and deliver a diverse learning programme and workshops for families, young people and adults alike, aiming to reach new audiences and utilise the fantastic studio spaces we have in the building as well as more recently engaging our communities with online workshops and activities for them to enjoy at home.

We are looking for artists and creatives to join our team of workshop tutors to help us deliver a high quality and exciting learning programme, workshops and events for local people.

The workshop tutors will form part of our delivery team and offer specialisms in a range of visual arts, with an interest and experience of delivering creative workshops to a range of ages and levels and through a range of techniques; including utilizing technology and engaging audiences online.

You should have previous experience of devising and delivering creative workshops and/or courses and have an interest or background in working with a range of communities.

There is a need for flexibility and you should have a range of practical, creative skills and/or interest in learning new techniques to adapt to the community we are working with, or to fit with the Arts Centre programme.

The tutor is responsible for the detailed content of the programme. All work should be undertaken within the objectives of the Brewhouse. Where applicable the Tutor will provide a list of materials required by the students along with a full description of the course content to be completed before the start of every term.

You will help support the marketing, promotion and development of the Brewhouse arts workshop programme, where possible, to reach as many residents of East Staffordshire.

The hours of work are casual as and when required including weekend and Bank Holidays.

East Staffordshire Borough Council has a commitment to the Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of Children and Vulnerable adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Successful applicants will be required to undertake an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service Check.
