Deputy Head-Temporary Maternity Cover Required for Summer Term 2021 onwards Salary band L9-13

Dickens Heath Community Primary School is looking for a passionate and dynamic Deputy Head teacher to join the senior leadership team in its drive towards achieving outstanding provision for all.

The successful candidate will have a zest for life and enjoy the challenges and opportunities that education offers today, as well as working within a large vibrant school with a great ethos, strong positive relationships and exciting opportunities.

Applicants must:

• have energy, enthusiasm, a sense of humour and a warm personality

• have proven leadership and management skills at a strategic and day to day level leading to improved quality of education and pupils’ standard of achievement

• be highly organised, energetic and passionate about making the school a centre of excellence

• be an inspirational leader, strategic thinker and creative problem-solver

• have an ability to lead, manage and motivate the whole school community

• be an outstanding class teacher

• have working knowledge and a practical understanding of using assessment data to accelerate pupil progress and enhance the quality of teaching and learning

• possess excellent organisational and ICT skills

• be a dedicated professional who is committed to building on existing partnership between parents, governors, other schools and the wider community

• have a record of successful school improvement

Closing date: Monday 25th January 2021 at noon

Interview date: Thursday 4th February 2021

As well as a 45minute interview, successful applicants will be asked to prepare a 20 minute professional development presentation on one of the following topics:

• Effective teaching and learning strategies to develop long term memory

• Creating an enabling environment to promote resilience and growth mindset

• Principles of effective learning (Rosenshine)

• The importance of children’s emotional wellbeing for personal development and academic achievement
