Scrutiny & Support Officer

Salary:  £32,234- £36,922 per annum

 37 Hours per week

As part of the Member and Democratic Services team in Corporate Services you will be a member of a team supporting elected Members to fulfil their democratic role within the Council.

This post’s main responsibilities will be to support the scrutiny function.  The role involves a range of tasks to support the effective management of meetings e.g. setting up and taking notes at meetings, follow up of agreed actions following meetings.  The Team use a meeting management system, mod.gov for this purpose.  There will also be the opportunity to undertake research on specific topics and to support scrutiny reviews, as identified by Select Committees.  The post involves regular contact with elected members, senior officers and partner organisations.

Candidates will be qualified to a degree level or equivalent and have experience of working directly with local authority members, senior officers and partners.
