Full-time or Part-time
Starting September 2021
We are delighted to offer the opportunity to join Nunnery Wood High School, a successful, popular and exciting school. You will work with highly skilled and committed colleagues who have built a thriving vocational department - comprising Child Development, Food Technology and Health and Social Care - with excellent leadership. A reputation for strong teaching means that courses within this subject area are consistently popular at GCSE with a wide range of students.
In the past, as a full-time role, the timetable has been made up of key stage three Food teaching and Child Development and Health and Social taught at key stage four. However, we are open minded about applications from candidates who wish to teach only the key stage four subjects as a part time role or from candidates offering a subject other than Food to make up a full timetable.
We are looking for a suitably experienced colleague to work within this aspirational team and lead on vocational subjects that will launch students into productive working lives. The school is currently exploring further ways of preparing key stage four students for success in the workplace, possibly delivered through the ASDAN platform. The essential quality sought in applicants will be a determination that students most suited to a vocational pathway will thrive and taste success in these subjects. Although currently offered as a BTEC, from 2021 both Child Development and Health and Social Care will be offered as a Cambridge National Qualification.
Nunnery Wood High School is oversubscribed and enjoys an excellent reputation in the region. Our last Ofsted report praised the outstanding behaviour and courtesy of our students and the respect that they showed to staff. Our intake is broad, from the academically gifted to students requiring nurturing in numeracy and literacy. We are ambitious for them all and share a deep conviction that they should all reach their potential with us.
Application forms and further information are available from the vacancies section of the school website www.nunnerywood.worcs.sch.uk
All applications must be made on the NWHS application form – CV’s will not be considered.
The successful applicants will be required to undertake safer recruitment vetting checks, including an Enhanced Disclosure via the DBS.
Closing date for applications: Friday 15th January 2021
