Housing Strategy Officer (Maternity Cover)
We are looking to recruit the right individual to provide maternity cover for our Housing Strategy Officer (37 hours, £20,092 - £27,741 plus up to £1k Essential Car User Allowance) in our Strategic Planning Team.

Here at South Staffordshire we have a strong track record of providing affordable housing and on-site negotiation for the right housing mix to meet the needs of our communities. This has come about because our Housing Strategy Officer sits within the wider Strategic Planning Team and housing is an integral part of our planning function.
You will be an experienced housing strategy officer looking to widen your experience in a rural authority with varied housing issues. You will have the opportunity to work with Local Plans and Development Management colleagues on planning applications, exceptions sites and be part of our current Local Plan review, including housing market assessment and policy development.
South Staffordshire is a diverse district, made up of a collection of large and small villages, each with its own distinctive character set in an attractive semi-rural area on the western edge of the West Midlands conurbation. Around 80% of the district is Green Belt and we have a rich legacy of historic buildings and conservation areas. Looking to meet the housing needs of local people while protecting the Green Belt is a challenge, but we believe our holistic approach ensures that we achieve the best outcomes for the residents of South Staffordshire.
It is envisaged the post will run for 9 months from February 2021 to November 2021.

Our main offices in Codsall are currently undergoing modernisation and refurbishment to provide a real community hub with partner organisations, local businesses, library, doctors surgery and cafe all in one central location due to open in 2021.
