About Us and The Role
As a Highway Authority, Warwickshire County Council (WCC) has responsibility for co-ordinating all works on the highway network of Warwickshire. Both WCC and HS2 are required to give notice to each other of their intended works. This process is aimed at assessing the impact on any works to minimise disruption to traffic networks and any foreseeable inconvenience which could be caused to road users.
WCC carries out these duties under the HS2 Act, New Roads & Street Works Act (NRSWA) / Traffic Management Act (TMA) 2004 taking action to ensure compliance. All HS2 works are required to apply for consent from the highway authority and the HS2 team manages this process through a bespoke process under Schedule 4 of the HS2 Act.
The post holder will carry out the co-ordination duties and support the team with other key project work including; research, data management, communications, and some finance processes.
Key Requirements
- Relevant degree or other qualification to NVQ Level 4 or a minimum of 3 years’ experience within a relevant specialist discipline
- The ability to independently interpret and analyse varied and complex information or situations over the medium term.
- Experience of working with customers, clients and partners
- Have experience of using ICT systems
- The ability to organise own workload, decide priorities, work under pressure to meet deadlines and manage interruptions during the day.
