Business Education & Care Finance Team provides financial support, information and advice across a number of Service areas in supporting them in the effective and efficient delivery of their services. Within each Finance team we seek to develop and support our staff by working closely together, sharing knowledge and best practice. The Service areas we support are growing and we seek to work in partnership with them to help them deliver an effective service which requires us to review and improve processes.
We are looking for someone who can develop further and help the service areas improve processes to ensure they are financially effective in their service delivery. Your role will include producing financial information and providing financial advice to support the effective and efficient delivery of services by service managers. It will include producing monthly financial monitoring and meeting with Budget Holders. You will produce good quality financial information, as requested from the Council’s financial management system and other appropriate sources. Give good quality financial advice to service managers. Assisting Accountants and Senior Finance Officers in the major cyclical financial processes including the closing down process at year end and the production of the detailed budget and statutory and non statutory returns.
We are looking for someone with the following key skills:-
- Good communication skills-oral and written
- Ability to analyse and interpret routine financial information for a budget area with supervision as necessary
- Ability to undertake costings and assessment of financial implications arising with supervision as necessary
- Good ICT skills including a good understanding of all systems available and effective use of these.
You will need to hold full AAT qualification with Associate Membership as a minimum or part CCAB or full CCAB qualified Active compliance with CPD requirements of professional body.
