Are you passionate about the environment?  Do you have the ability to inspire and engage communities enabling them to create a cleaner, greener and safer Solihull for all?

As a Community Engagement Officer within the Public Realm Team your interpersonal skills will be key to creating strong and robust relationships with the community and local partners to deliver environmental initiatives.  Your job isn’t to do things for people, but to support and point them in the right direction so that local communities can put right what matters to them and play an active role in creating cleaner, greener and safer neighbourhoods.

You should have experience of supporting the delivery of community projects and initiatives and be able to engage with a wide range of partners and stakeholders,

You should have a Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject, such as Community Development or  have achieved specialist knowledge through your extended experience and/or training.

One of your first responsibilities in this role will be to design and deliver Love Solihull’s environmental education programme, engaging with young people in a creative way to increase awareness of environmental issues and support them in playing an active role in their community.

This role will give you plenty of room to really make a difference to our residents. It will also provide you with an opportunity to work within a team that have been finalists for Solihull MBC’s Team of the Year award 2017 and 2019 and have been shortlisted finalists for Best Community and Neighbourhood Initiative at the national APSE Awards 2019.
