Hours:  As and When required

Salary:  £10.00 per hour 

A range of opportunities are available to join the council in Covid testing and helping to reduce the number of positive Covid cases in the borough.

Required to work up to 37 hours per week, but in some cases part time may also be available. Hours of work will be between 8.00am  – 6.00 pm, evenings and weekend working may also be available.

Under the instruction / guidance of appropriate senior staff the postholder will be a key part of the Covid testing team assisting to process test from staff and pupils. Working primarily in indoor facilities, you will also be responsible for testing related administrative duties.  These duties will be across a range of building within Dudley including schools

With the support of a wider team you will ensure that adults and pupils attending for procedures have Covid swabs in line with national and local guidance. You will be supporting staff and pupils in schools and ensuring they are regularly swabbed to maintain safety.

You will receive full training in the correct use of PPE, swabbing and will not work in isolation. You will be part of a team and will undertake the following:-

  • Meet and greet staff and pupils that require testing, checking personal details against information provided and adhering to all data protection policies and procedures
  • Using the safety equipment and PPE provided  - assist as instructed with testing
  • Make sure tests are appropriately sealed and labelled and sent off as instructed.
  • Follow all infection control protocols ensuring the safety of yourself, colleagues, school staff and pupils at all times.
  • Be aware of Health and Safety requirements in the area of work and assist in promoting the safety and well-being of other staff and pupils
