This is an exciting opportunity to join our Housing Services team as an Estate Officer. If you are someone who enjoys being in the outdoors and wants to maintain and improve the local environment, this role should interest you.

This role is about taking responsibility for and making a positive contribution to the cleansing, health and safety, maintenance and appearance in and around the communal areas of our housing stock and the wider housing neighbourhood. You will be able to make a positive impact on the quality of people’s lives, by helping to improve their environment and helping to address their concerns.

Your duties will include ensuring housing land and housing stock is safe and well maintained, you will carry out fire safety inspections, monitor contractors, work closely with other Housing colleagues, including partner agencies such as the Police and County Council.

Working sometimes on your own and sometimes as part of a team, your supervisor will be an Estates Team Leader.

This is a public facing role of Housing Services, so you need excellent communication skills, as you will be working in and around neighbourhoods on a daily basis, problem solving and interacting with tenants. You will need to effectively deal with their concerns and work with colleagues throughout the service to make our neighbourhoods a cleaner and safer place to live.

Requirements of the role include: 

A driving licence is required as this role will include visiting several sites on a daily basis to conduct fire safety checks and ensuring our estates are neat and tidy.
