£20,092 - £22,183 per annum pro rata
18.5 hours per week
including some weekends and evenings
Temporary contract for 12 months
Tamworth Borough Council’s customer service centre is at the heart of our council services and we are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual who would like to join our busy team at the Tamworth Tourist Information Centre.
Each day brings a different challenge; you will need to be a great team player and confident communicator.
Carrying out front line facing duties and customer contact via telephone or digital methods, such as web chat, email, and social media, you will take ownership for, and answer, a wide range of enquiries relating to council services, council tax, housing benefits, street scene, and tourist information, whilst signposting to partner agencies where necessary, to ensure that our customers receive excellent customer service.
Excellent customer service skills and computer literacy is essential as well as being able to embrace new ways of working and technologies whilst promoting our digital services and supporting our customers with their online journey. You will need the ability to work under pressure and deal with challenging situations in a sensitive manner using your own initiative.
