We have an opening for a Principal Governance Officer to oversee and coordinate the work of the Governance team in supporting the Council and with the full range of democratic and legal services to support decision making and statutory obligations.
You will act as System Administrator for the Mod Gov committee management system and hold the budget for Member allowances. As supervisor to the team of Governance Officers and Casuals, you will ensure the smooth running of governance activities, such as agenda planning and meetings and events hosting and clerking.
With a recognised qualification in governance or public administration, or with significant relevant experience, you must demonstrate excellent organisational and time management skills in a busy team, as well as evidence excellent communication skills which you can adapt as appropriate to suit a variety of audiences. You will also require extensive previous experience of hosting virtual meetings and livestreaming.
Please note that this is a politically restricted post, and that regular evening working will be required to support Members and Committee meetings.
