Inward Investment & Business Support Officer
Dudley is the historic capital of the Black Country, a region located in the heart of the West Midlands, in the centre of the UK. It is close to the M5 and M6, just eight miles from Birmingham City Centre and within easy reach of Birmingham International Airport.
Dudley and the Black Country have a long history of providing world-class manufacturing and engineering and continue to provide the perfect economic conditions for advanced manufacturing. Dudley is seeing significant investment with work on a £1 billion pound programme of investment in the borough gathering pace which includes the Wednesbury to Brierley Hill Metro Extension.
Dudley Business First, the Council's inward investment and business support team, will play a crucial role in ensuring that local businesses benefit from the planned investment as well as attracting new investment to the DY5 Enterprise Zone. The team also work closely with both public and private sector business support organisations to provide a package of support to new and existing businesses to grow and prosper within the borough.

Salary: Grade 10
Key responsibilities of the role include:
To lead and develop the implementation and delivery of the inward investment and business support offer of the Council to reflect emerging local, regional and national economic development priorities including initiatives such as the DY5 Enterprise Zone
To project manage inward investment and business support projects and programmes and maximise the economic opportunities for Dudley Borough.
To proactively engage with internal and external stakeholders and partnerships to co-ordinate and develop the Council’s inward investment and business support offer.

The council has a contractual 3 days mandatory unpaid leave which, for the majority of services, are fixed at the Christmas period. This represents a pay deduction of 1.15% in return for which employees are afforded three days unpaid leave (pro-rata for part time staff).
