Job Title: Project Support Officer (LOCOP)
Salary: £23,632 - £25,579 PA
Full-Time:35 hours
Location: Wildwood, Worcester
Temporary: January 2022

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Worcestershire County Council’s Sustainability Team.  We are looking to recruit a Project Support Officer for a twelve-month period to cover an internal secondment.  The successful applicant should have excellent numeracy and communication skills; an eye for detail; experience of monitoring and administering publicly funded projects; and an appreciation of the issues affecting small and medium sized businesses.

You will be working within the Low Carbon Opportunities Programme an EU funded programme, which supports small-to-medium enterprises across Worcestershire to cut carbon emissions and save money by installing renewable energy systems; and also supports businesses who are already involved with or looking to diversify into the low carbon products and services sector. The Programme offers free advice and access to grant funding.

You will assist the Senior Project Officer in the operational delivery of this advice and grants programme. The varied work will include tasks such as:

Day-to-day communication with businesses and partners, administering grants, assisting with procurement and working closely with contract providers.  Ensuring compliance with, and working within the regulations of, ERDF funding requirements.  Assisting with the planning and delivery of events and marketing of the programme.

As part of a supportive team, you will work alongside colleagues delivering other advice and grant funding programmes, as well as other sustainability work within the community and the County Council. The Sustainability Team is part of the Economy and Infrastructure Directorate.

Worcestershire County Council operates a policy of flexible working and staff regularly work from home or an alternative work base, typically two days per week or 40% of their working hours (currently the post is 100% working from home while COVID restrictions exist).

Travel throughout Worcestershire and Shropshire will be required, (subject to COVID restrictions).

The post is fixed term until the end of January 2022. It is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
