A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the Senior Management Team within Worcestershire’s Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Team (SEND).

We currently have a permanent SEN Team Manager post available. The position is full time, 35 hours per week.

The role represents a unique opportunity to join an enthusiastic and dedicated team in a key leadership role, delivering high quality, flexible and responsive services for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. 


You will need a comprehensive knowledge of SEN Legislation and/or experience of working with children and young people with SEN.  You will manage a small team, leading on the co-ordination and delivery of SEN statutory process for preschool aged children, ensuing compliance with SEND legislation and regulations.


You will need to have proven management experience together with the ability to work within tight timescales. Good communication skills are essential. You will oversee Special Educational Needs assessments, responding to complaints and appeals. Implementing systems and processes to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of SEN casework through the statutory SEN process. You will be responsible for overseeing our EHC panel meetings and making decisions on assessments. You will maintain and develop good models of stakeholder engagement in decision-making and support effective co-planning and collaborative working between SEND staff and colleagues across education, social care and health.
