Building Control Officer
The Borough of Dudley is the historic heart of the Black Country. With the announcements of investments up to £750m including Metro, the Black Country Living Museum, DY5 Enterprise Zone and the town centre redevelopments, major growth is planned for the Borough.
Hours: 37 per week
Salary: Grade 9
We are looking to appoint a Building Control Officer to assist our dedicated and friendly team in helping to deliver these developments.
You should have excellent communication skills and be pro-active in delivering an established first-class service to existing and new customers. Previous experience of agile and remote working is essential, along with a demonstrable ability of self-motivation and workload prioritisation.
You can expect to be involved in a wide and varied workload typical of a busy metropolitan area, which will provide challenging and interesting work, and career development opportunities.
You should have proven previous experience in Building Control and be suitably qualified. Membership of a recognised professional body such as RICS, CIOB or CABE would be advantageous.

The council has a contractual 3 days mandatory unpaid leave which, for the majority of services, are fixed at the Christmas period. This represents a pay deduction of 1.15% in return for which employees are afforded three days unpaid leave (pro-rata for part time staff).
