Senior Educational Psychologist - Ref: CH24920
Salary - £51,029 - £55,996 per annum plus up to 3 SPA points

Walsall Educational Psychology Service is a creative and supportive service which is looking to recruit an innovative Senior Educational Psychologist to help lead and manage our growing team, explore new and creative ways of working and to support the further development of our traded service.

Walsall EPS is situated within the Inclusion Service and has a key role to play in the delivery of the SEND strategy and the Inclusion strategy.  The service has strong links with other teams within the Inclusion Service the Access Service, as well as with health and social care colleagues.  Walsall EPS delivers a balance of work, including statutory work, core work (including Early Years, critical incident support and support for vulnerable children and young people with EHCPs) and a range of psychological support being traded to schools and settings.  Walsall EPS is highly regarded by schools and settings and demand for the traded service remains high.  Walsall Council recognises the value of Educational Psychology at an operational and strategic level and we are continually reflecting on, and shaping, our service delivery to meet the changing needs within the borough.  We are looking for a skilled EP with leadership experience who can join our senior team and support the future development of the service.

Walsall EPS is a dynamic service with lots of exciting opportunities and advantages, including:

  • the opportunity for all EPs to develop an area of specialism
  • the opportunity for all EPs to contribute to service development initiatives and central training
  • the opportunity for all EPs to engage in a range of professional development activities, including access to a programme of team CPD/development days
  • working in a centrally based service with a strong team identity and regular opportunities for peer supervision and support
  • free onsite parking at central office base (*currently working remotely due to the coronavirus pandemic and associated restrictions)
  • access to good admin support
  • access to good IT equipment, support and infrastructure
  • a flexi-time system and agile working

We would be interested in hearing from qualified Educational Psychologists who have some experience of leadership and management.

All applicants must hold the relevant professional qualification and be registered with the HCPC.

This post is covered by the Government’s Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers.
