We are currently recruiting for a cleaner to be part of the Independent living team at Bridge Street. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

Cleaning, washing, sweeping, vacuum cleaning and carpet shampooing.

Collection and disposal of rubbish as appropriate.

Polishing and dusting (using where appropriate powered equipment).

To report any defects observed to supervision.

To replenish consumables and report material requirements to supervisor.

To undertake such other duties of a similar nature at other locations as instructed by the supervising officer.

To be successful in this role, you will have.

Relevant general cleaning experience in non-domestic environment.
Knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act
Must be able to work as part of a team.
Good customer liaison skills.
Knowledge of powered cleaning tool and cleaning materials.
Good communication skills.
Empathy with elderly persons.
Willingness to work at other nearby schemes at short notice.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
To understand and be committed to the Council’s Core Values and Vision.
Must be physical fit.
Reliable timekeeper.
Access to transport.
Ability to portray a professional image.


This role is 15 hours per week Monday - Friday at 3 hours per day.
