We are looking for a motivated and focused Environmental Health Officer to join our Food & Occupations Health & Safety team, to undertake regulatory and enforcement activity under legislation relating (but not limited) to Food safety, infectious disease, health & safety and public health.

The successful applicant needs to be a team player, an excellent communicator and have the skills and ability to communicate with officers/councillors and members of the public, at all levels. You will have a strong commitment to excellent customer service and be able to deal effectively with difficult situations achieving positive outcomes with often conflicting demands.

This is an interesting but sometimes challenging job with a varied workload and a requirement to meet strict deadlines, therefore a high level of self-motivation and the ability to take the lead on specific pieces of work are essential qualities.

A working knowledge of IT applications, particularly in relation to Microsoft Office and other database management systems is essential (a working knowledge of CIVICA Authority software would be an advantage).

Applicants must hold a certificate of registration with EHORB and ideally be competent in food safety. They must also have a full valid driving license and availability to a car/vehicle.
