Family Support Worker
As a result of our continuing expansion and our success in securing an unprecedented third BIG Lottery grant, coupled with winning the Trent & Dove Impact on the Community award for Best Support Organisation for the last four years, an exciting opportunity has arisen within our team.
Our team of Family Support Workers provide holistic one to one support for families with children aged between 0-19 years throughout East Staffordshire.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with experience in working with young people, families and children. Applicants should have the passion and drive to provide family support.
This role encompasses group and one to one work with families and a friendly, non-judgmental approach is essential. The Family Support Worker will also need to liaise closely with statutory and voluntary organisations and have an understanding of the needs of parents and their families.
We are looking for applicants who pride themselves on having excellent interpersonal, organisational, listening and time management skills. Initiative and assertiveness will also be key to your success. Applicants with enthusiasm, a real passion for the role and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
The role will include:
- Providing a family support service across East Staffordshire within the home setting
- Liaising with partner agencies to offer support for clients
- Managing a caseload and having excellent reporting skills
- Providing support to the Operations Manager
- Working under your own initiative with excellent time management
- Having excellent communication skills with the ability to advise service users when signposting to appropriate services
The hours of work are 37.5 hours a week based in Burton and across East Staffordshire; flexible working will be required to include some evening and weekend work, where necessary. Applicants must have use of their own car at all times, for which expenses are paid. Disclosure and Barring Service check (Enhanced Level) and references will be required.
