Like many areas of the UK, Dudley Council continues to face the ongoing challenges associated with flood risk.

Due to retirement Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council, as a Lead local Flood Risk Authority, is looking to appoint a new Flood Risk Manager.

Hours:  37 per week

Salary:  Grade 12

The Flood Risk Manger will provide team leadership and have delegated responsibility for development and implementation of a Local Flood Risk Management Strategy and other key Lead Local Flood Risk Authority (LLFA) tasks together with other responsibilities as required by the Flood Risk Regulations 2009 and the Flood and Water Management Act 2010.

The Flood Risk Manager will also have lead responsibilities for the implementation and operation of Sustainable Drainage legislation in accordance with the Flood and Water Management Act and the National Planning Policy Framework.

The Flood Risk Manager will be based in Dudley Council’s Environmental Management’s offices at Lister Road Dudley, but the post will require some degree of travel within the Black Country area.

The council has a contractual 3 days mandatory unpaid leave which, for the majority of services, are fixed at the Christmas period. This represents a pay deduction of 1.15% in return for which employees are afforded three days unpaid leave (pro-rata for part time staff).
