Start date:  September 2021

Staffordshire University Academy is seeking to appoint an innovative and ambitious teacher of Modern Foreign Languages to lead our MFL Department from September 2021. The successful candidate will join a friendly and supportive Humanities faculty who want to achieve the very best for our students. The successful candidate will be able to lead and build on the strengths within the faculty whilst continuing to drive the progress and engagement being made in this vital curriculum area.

We are looking to for an applicant who can enthuse, motivate and challenge students and staff to achieve the very best outcomes and opportunities. All students study languages in Years 7 to 9, with GCSE MfL as an option in Key Stage 4. Ideally, we are looking for a teacher who can speak and teach more than one foreign language. We have access to high quality facilities and resources and work within a strong faculty structure that allows best practice to be shared. This is a significant opportunity for an applicant who can enthuse students to develop a love of languages and an appreciation of where languages can them.  A remuneration increase would be considered for a successful candidate who is able to increase the numbers of students opting for languages and grow the languages offer at  Key Stage 5.

We would welcome applications from well qualified and early career teachers, who may be looking for their first step into curriculum leadership or a teacher who has experience of curriculum leadership and has the vision to take this department into a new era. If you are passionate about Modern Foreign Languages and leading your own department, we are keen to hear from you.

Do you have?

* High aspirations and a proven track record of delivering at a highly effective level.
* A passion for working with young people and a desire to ensure that students are suitably motivated and challenged.
* The passion and dedication to make a difference to the lives of young people.
* The desire to share and learn from best practice to ensure continual self-improvement.
* The ability to use and apply technology in lessons to support teaching and learning.

In return we can offer;
* Genuinely exciting career opportunity in a growing and successful academy.
* Supportive, experienced and enthusiastic colleagues.
* Additional unique CPD opportunities provided by Staffordshire University.
* Excellent facilities including classrooms equipped with the latest audio-visual technology and free use of fitness suite.
