A vacancy has arisen in North Locality Adult Social Care Team, for a temporary part time Advanced Practitioner.

This is an exciting time to join Walsall Council’s Adult Social Care Service. As Advanced Practitioner, you will have opportunity to oversee day-to-day operations of our Review and Safeguarding function. You will support the Team to meet its statutory obligations and ensure a timely and proportionate response to safeguarding enquiries and reviews. You will be required to demonstrate an excellent knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and related legislative frameworks.

We are particularly looking for an enthusiastic and committed professional to join our team to help shape and deliver our services, and contribute to the development of a model of best practice. In order to do so, you will be supported by a strong leadership Team and a committed Team of Advanced Practitioners, Social Workers, Social Care Facilitators and Occupational Therapy staff.

The successful candidate will be an experienced registered Social Worker or Occupational Therapist, who, with oversight and support from the Team Manager will champion and develop best practice within your area of responsibility. 

The successful candidate will have sound practice skills, safeguarding knowledge and a proven track record of professional development. In addition you must hold a post qualifying award as an AMHP, BIA or Practice Educator (stages 1 & 2).  You will also be committed to the ongoing development of the Adult Social Care wider workforce.

These posts are covered by the Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers.

The post holder must have a social work qualification or equivalent and must be registered with Social Work England.
