We have an opportunity for a health and safety professional with a range of expertise and experience to join our team at Solihull Council.

As one of our Health and Safety Advisors/Senior Advisors you will work as part of a dedicated team responsible for delivering an effective and customer focused health and safety advisory service to managers and employees across a diverse range of Council services, schools and academies, external customers and other partner organisations.

You will be values orientated, solutions focused and have a collaborative ‘can do’ work style. You will be required to deliver complex professional advice and guidance, as well as promote the principles of sensible and proportionate risk management.

To be successful in this role you will already hold a relevant qualification such as the. NEBOSH National General Certificate or higher, and hold professional membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). With an up-to-date record of continued professional development you will be able to demonstrate experience on the application of Health and Safety Management Systems as well as working in compliance with appropriate legislation and best practice guidance. Whilst experience of working in Local Government, Schools and Social Housing would be advantageous, it is not essential.

Currently working from home (normal office located at the Council House) the ability to travel effectively inside and outside the Borough will be essential for this post.
