The Role


To promote the school’s learning culture in which all students are encouraged to become resilient, independent and life-long learners provide support for students at KS4 and KS5, helping all students to make at least expected progress and enabling them to overcome barriers to learning.


Fixed term contract 12 months from start date


Key Requirements

Training and Qualifications
•Degree or equivalent (essential)
•GCSE or equivalent English and Mathematics

Experience
•At least one year’s experience of working with young people (essential)

Skills and Knowledge
•Mentoring and tutoring skills and the willingness to develop them further (essential)
•Excellent interpersonal skills (essential)
•Planning , time management and organisational skills (essential)
•Good IT skills (Word, Excel) and the willingness to learn to use a range of SIMs modules (essential)
•The appointee needs to be literate and numerate
•Willingness to become familiar with specification demands of subjects that students study (essential)

Abilities and Disposition
•A commitment to helping students achieve through education and learning (essential)
•The ability to provide a positive role model to students (essential)
•The ability to monitor and assess students’ learning needs (essential)
•The ability to work in partnership with students, parents and staff (essential)
