Job Details

We are currently seeking a motivated and suitably skilled individual to join the leisure services teams at Horsehay Village Golf Centre.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day operational management of Horsehay Village Golf Centre as part of the Duty Officer team.

The successful candidate will work across a rota pattern that includes regular morning, evening and weekend working.

A strong understanding of health & safety issues and risk assessment would be an advantage.

Key Qualifications:

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent

• Level 2 Health & Fitness Certificate or ability to achieve within 6 months

• First Aid at Work Qualification

Key Duties:

· To be responsible for the operation of the centre, to be accountable for all monies received and to ensure all financial and administrative procedures are carried out correctly.

· To deal courteously, efficiently and effectively with all customer needs, complaints, accidents, incidents and defects as they arise and fully complete relevant report forms

· The post holder will ensure that facilities are of an acceptable standard of readiness and cleanliness and are fully operational and available for public use at all times to ensure a high standard of service delivery to customers.

· To supervise and where required instruct in the safe use of the facilities by customers ensuring compliance with the appropriate procedures and providing advice and assistance in the use of equipment.

· Undertake point of sales duties as required, including issuing of tickets, safe receipt of income, the issuing of equipment and supplying customers with relevant equipment, receipt and correct storage of same.

· Ensure that the equipment and plant at the centre is fully operational at all times, identifying, repairing or reporting defects as required.

· Produce rotas for centre staff on a shift basis, keep up to date, monitor attendance and obtain cover for staff when on leave or unable to work, to ensure safe and effective staffing levels for all activity areas at all times.

· Maintain security of the premises throughout the opening hours and during locking up procedures.

· Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety procedures as laid down in the relevant Health and Safety manuals

· Ensure all the required Audit and Telford & Wrekin policies, procedures and processes are adhered to and operating correctly, including the completion of banking reports and associated cash management procedures.

· Ensure all subordinate staff comply with customer service standards with particular regards to standards of dress, telephone etiquette and customer care.

· Attend relevant training and retraining courses, team briefs, staff development and general meetings as directed by the Team Leader.

· The postholder will regularly patrol the building and the immediate outside vicinity in order to deter vandalism and theft.

· While the postholder is employed as a Duty Officer it may be necessary to undertake other duties from time to time, complete small projects or provide cover at other Leisure & Community Facilities controlled by the Authority.

• Relevant supervisory experience in a Leisure and Customer Services environment.

• Shift Management responsibility

• Supervising and training of staff in operational procedures

• Experience of Health & Safety monitoring and reporting procedures

• Windows/Word/Clarity literate

• Good interpersonal skills and customer communication skills.

• Ability to utilise Flex for the purposes of bookings, ticket sales and cashing up.
