This is a fixed term post for 3 years.
Do you want to be part of a dynamic team delivering the Stoke High Street Heritage Action Zone? Historic England has awarded the funding to help unlock the potential of Stoke Towns historic high street in conjunction with the Spode site, fuelling economic, social and cultural recovery. The project will transform disused and dilapidated buildings into homes, shops, work places and community spaces and will promote and conserve key aspects of the city’s built and archaeological heritage. This heritage led-regeneration scheme will involve working with partners including community groups and property owners. This is a 3 year fixed term post - you will be responsible for delivering and coordinating a range of projects within the delivery plan which will promote a mutually beneficial relationship between the High Street and the Spode site.
The Project Officer will raise awareness and understanding of the role of heritage supporting regeneration and therefore the post will require someone with the clear ability to operate strategically, identify links, work across a wide range of sectors and deal with partners and stakeholders across all levels of responsibility.
The post holder will be educated to degree level or equivalent and be expected to be able to manage a variety of projects delivering tangible outputs. The post holder will be required to have excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to be particularly effective at building and strengthening partnerships, engaging and influencing property owners and the wider community, supporting the delivery of cultural and community based activities and promoting the HSAZ initiative with a focus on the area’s heritage and its role in regeneration.
Based in the Council’s Regeneration and Economic Growth Team the post holder will work closely with colleagues from across the Council and Historic England, as well as the wider HSHAZ partners. The interview process will be managed by Stoke-on-Trent City Council in partnership with Historic England.
