The role
Are you curious and do you always ask why? Do you like to find meaning in data? If you’re excited by the possibilities of using data and intelligence to improve outcomes for children and families, we’d love to hear from you!
Reporting to the Intelligence Performance & Analysis Manager, using your excel skills your focus will be to take us to automation using Power BI. And if you’re not fully proficient with Power BI yet, that’s fine - we can bring you up to speed.
In this role you’ll be building new ways to get data to work for us. You’ll tailor analysis so that our teams in Children & families can identify trends in the data more easily and can continue to improve their service for the Staffordshire communities they serve. As well as helping to build these dashboards you’ll also support the business to understand the data by telling a story with the insights you uncover.
The work you’ll do in this role will have a direct impact on the children and families in our communities so it’s important work that can help our services to change lives.
What do we need from you?
You’ll be an experienced data analyst, performance analyst or similar with great excel skills. You might even have experience with power BI or another visualisation tool, but training will be provided so that’s not essential. You’ll be used to creating the methodology for collecting both qualitative and quantitative data and then uncovering meaning within that data.
You’ll also be someone who can make sense of data for the business. You’ll be able to tell a story so the business can understand what the data is telling us and how they can use this to continually improve. Also, as an Authority we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people/vulnerable adults and so we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment with us.
In terms of location we work out of the office in Stafford, but we actively encourage the use of smart working, including working from home and other locations because we recognise our teams work better when they can achieve a suitable work /life balance.
